Organisation of MoniQA Workshop in connection with the 31st session of CCMAS

Based on the feedback and suggestions of the participants of the workshop on Measurement uncertainty in 2009, another MoniQA workshop will be organised on Sunday, 7 March 2010 in Budapest. The workshop will deal with the estimation of method performance characteristics within the Codex context and the application of the “criteria approach” for deciding on the applicability of various methods for Codex purposes. The number of participants is limited. The registered delegates to CCMAS can attend the workshop free of charge. Other persons have to pay a registration fee of 190 €.  Interested persons can register at http://www.moniqa.org/budapest2010.

CLARIFICATION FOR GUIDELINES FOR SETTLING DISPUTES OVER ANALYTICAL (TEST) RESULTS

The CCMAS elaborated the draft GLs which were submitted to CAC at step 8. The 32nd Session of the Commission adopted the Draft Guidelines. The Delegation of Brazil expressed the view that section 4 “Analysing Reserve Samples” in the Draft Guidelines resulted in unequal treatment between the importing and the exporting countries, in favour of the importing country. After the CAC Meeting the Delegation of Brazil sent 2 examples in support of their position (Disputa A and B). The examples indicate that the GLs might be misinterpreted. Chairman of CCMAS provided clarification for the case, which was circulated for comments by February 10, 2010.
